A group of seven paintings on catalogue pages in Unwinding The Real at Les Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie, Toulouse from September 2015 to January 2016.
'Les Abattoirs presented key pieces that resonate with our relationship to time, current events and history. Borrowing its title from an essay published by the art critic Michel Tapié in 1952, this new hanging from the Abattoirs collection suggests a pursuit between art and reality.
Unwinding reality is not emptying it in order to exhaust it, but unrolling it, anticipating it and running after it to account for its intensity. The twenty or so works gathered here resonate with our relationship to time, current events and history. They point to the writing of intimate stories whose resonance is collective, invent surprising but surprisingly familiar forms and place their viewers in a situation of indecision as to what we should commonly call "real"'.
